Family-Friendly Fall Break Activities

There are so many fun activities to do with your family while they are on fall break. Some of these activities mentioned are outside activities, so if you live where it snows, be sure to do these before winter comes.

Fall is the season for apple and pumpkin dishes. A few of the suggestions below involve cooking with these delicious fruits.

Make Homemade Apple Cider

Apple cider is a fall-favorite because it’s both delicious and easy to make. Look for recipes online and enjoy this warm and tasty drink any time of the day.

Make Holiday Cards

Your family and friends will love their homemade holiday cards! Use your favorite colors and family photos, and personalize each card. Get creative.

Collect Fall Leaves

What are you going to do with all of those leaves on the sidewalk and in the yard? Most of the time, we blow them away, rake them up and discard them. But why not use them to create art projects? You can use the leaves to make your fall decor for your family room and guest room.

Go Camping

It’s a great time of year to pull out those tents and sleeping bags. Go now before it gets too cold.

Go Hiking

Depending on where you live, the temperatures may still be warm enough for a beautiful hike. Enjoy the fall air and scenery, and go for a quick hike. Be sure to dress appropriately and hydrate.

Make a Pinecone Bird Feeder

Make sure the birds eat well before they fly south for the winter! Pinecone bird feeders are so easy to make, and your family will enjoy watching the birds feast on their works of art. If you don’t live near any pine cones, you can purchase them at your local craft store or online.

Make Rice Krispie Treats

These classic treats are fun and easy to make!

Make Candied Apples

A classic, fall treat. You can even find kits at your local grocery store.

Bake an Apple or Pumpkin Pie

Or bake both. Apple pies are a classic, American dessert and pumpkin pies are perfect for this time of year.

Visit a Local Pumpkin Farm

You can do so much more than just look at the pumpkins. They often have hayrides, petting zoos, food, and games for kids.

Host a Backyard Bonfire

If you live in a house with a backyard, gather the family for a fun bonfire. Make s’mores, play games, and tell spooky stories.

Family Movie Night!

This is a great time of year to enjoy a family-friendly movie or two. Make some popcorn, or another movie-watching treat, and enjoy a night in with the people you love.

You and your family can have so much fun during fall break with these great activities. The goal is to spend time with your loved ones, so it doesn’t matter if you choose to do just one or all of the suggested activities, as long as you are bonding with your family.
