Christy Highfill leads street outreach efforts designed to bring compassionate help to those living on the streets in her hometown area of Bakersfield, CA.

Faith-based Hope and Healing
Christy and her team at The Vine work one-on-one with the unhoused population in her area. She works with multiple organizations who provide immediate assistance with hot meals, clothing, blankets, shoes, and minor medical care. But beyond meeting material needs, the mission is to build trust and authentic relationships.
“We believe healing starts with connection, and that long-term recovery — especially from addiction and trauma — can only happen when people feel safe, seen, and loved without judgment,” Christy says. Some of her Confie office staff also work with her in this mission.
Her work is deeply personal, and she’s learned that what people need most isn’t always a handout, but someone who truly sees them, believes in them and is willing to walk with them.
“Locally and globally, I’m committed to building bridges — between people and services, between brokenness and healing, and despair and hope. It starts with trust, grows through relationship, and is sustained by faith.”
Christy has been with Confie for 15 years.
